no, the control is the independent variable because you are trying to find the affect of something...and you do that to the other variable (the dependent)

I don't think so. A control is constant, so it will not change. A dependent changes according to the control (or I might have those backwards). So unless your project is ';Can a control be the same has the dependant?'; Then no. There'd be no point in that science project....
